How the Quasar store and the TopV.gg communities unite to change a life. Quasar Store and TopV.gg are backing a fundraiser for a life-changing surgery in Germany. Read Ivana's story, share her campaign, donate if you can, and help a mother keep the ability to walk alongside her child.
Ivana agreed to share her story with TopV.gg. These are her words, exactly as she entrusted them to us.
« Hi, I'm Ivana — a mother, a wife and a gamer, like many of you. I belong to that generation that started playing in computer rooms; that's where I made many friends, and the first game that hooked me was Counter Strike. Over the years I've played many others — Diablo, League of Legends, Hearthstone, GTA V, Fortnite, Dead by Daylight. I love multiplayer games, where you can meet new people and talk. Sadly, my life has also brought a lot of hardship: at 15 I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. I went through several heavy leg surgeries and chemotherapy. I had to have a knee joint fitted. Over the years I've also had several revision surgeries in France and in Bulgaria. So games became my refuge in moments when going out with friends was hard, because I had to recover after every operation. My encounter with GTA V was at first single player, then multiplayer, and finally I plucked up the courage to try GTA V RP. »
« It didn't take much for me to get pulled in — roleplay is a whole world where everyone can be whatever they want and experience things they wouldn't have the courage to try in real life, or that simply aren't safe to attempt. I spent about two years creating several characters on different servers, learning how to step into a role, and also learning life lessons that helped me avoid repeating them in real life. I streamed the whole journey live on Twitch; many people enjoyed my stream and came there to unwind during the hard moments of Lockdown. »
« Life moved on, I got married and became pregnant — and that's when the health problems started again. I had pain in my leg; after I gave birth, my leg was operated on in Bulgaria. Unfortunately the surgery was unsuccessful. I was sent to Germany for evaluation, where a plan was made for a new operation and I was given an estimate. Sadly the amount we need to raise for the surgery is out of reach for me and my family — that's why I'm asking for your help. To everyone who can: please join the campaign through the link below.
